There are a lot of things I want to share with you about a lot of different subjects. Therefore I labeled all my posts. You can find those labels in the menu at the top left on my homepage. Los Angeles

General Information

Under this label you'll find general information about your trip to Los Angeles; how to get around, information about the airport, eating habits, etc. If you want the full guide in 1 pdf file, please don't hesitate to contact me :)

Highlights

Of course visitors want to visit the "highlights" of LA. However, in my opinion, these are not the best places to go in LA. There are often many tourists, it is dirty and / or you have to wait in long queues. But if, despite this warning you still want to see these highlights, here are a few tips for the best experiences! There'll be blogs labeled Hollywood, Santa Monica & Venice, the studios and more.

Off the beaten track

These are posts about the more hidden, unknown beauties LA has to offer. These will make your visit more special and unique! All blogs  have a label with the relevant neighborhood. You'll find blogs about  DTLA, Pasadena, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Echo Park, La Brea & Fairfax, but also about museums, hikes and Farmer's markets.

Here you'll find all the posts with my music. You can also go directly to my Soundcloud page by clicking on 'Soundcloud' on the top menu on my homepage or here.

Projects

Everything else :) I love being a creative problem solver in and around the house and if there's anything shareable about it, you'll find it here. There'll be macrame, kintsugi, a birthday calendar, recipes, and more.

Herman Brood (Friendship Bread)

During this weird time, I, amongst many others, started baking and discovered how easy it is to make a 'levain', or sourdough starter. It reminded me of when i was a child and received 'herman' from a friend. and a couple of years after me, my brothers also both received herman from a friend. i remember how much fun we had taking care of him, feeding him, stirring him and eventually, eating him! plus sharing him with friends. and i thought to myself, what a wonderful time to bring this joyful experience to my friends! Herman A KIND OF BREAD/CAKE BASED ON A SOURDOUGH STARTER THAT IS BEING PASSED ON TO FRIENDS like a CHAIN LETTER. AFTER YOU GET IT FROM A FRIEND IT TAKES 10 DAYS BEFORE YOU BAKE IT, AND ON DAY 9 YOU PASS PARTS OF THE DOUGH ON TO 3 OF YOUR FRIENDS. in english it's known as 'amish friendship bread', although it's not clear how it got this name, because it doesn't seem to have any connection to the amish culture. what we do know i

Museums

Los Angeles has a couple of really nice museums. Although I believe the most outstanding works of art and works of famous European artists are in Europe, here the architecture of the museum buildings and the overall experience of a visit are astonishing. The focus of the museums on modern art is also interesting. Keep in mind; most museums are closed on Mondays and for most museums you can book a ticket online; for The Broad this is a must! The Broad   The Broad is a modern museum in Downtown LA  (DTLA) with an awesome entrance of which I won't reveal the surprise. The entrance is free, but book your tickets online and in advance to avoid wasting half a day standing in line. Also, as long as there's a special exhibition, you might have to sign up to see this as soon as you enter the museum. At this moment, Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Rooms are temporarily closed due to the pandemic, but hopefully they will be open soon. Book your tickets well in advance at   ht
