 My favorite version of this song is by Rhiannon Giddens, which you can find here. Other beautiful versions are by Emmylou Harris and Eva Cassidy.

 Recently this song was sung in the movie 1917, right before the men are sent into an ambush (sung by Jos Slovick). The song is about a lost soul, traveling through life. It's often associated with a soldier who's about to die.

 This recording was made by Joep Sporck, who is a composer for film, tv and media.

Herman Brood (Friendship Bread)

During this weird time, I, amongst many others, started baking and discovered how easy it is to make a 'levain', or sourdough starter. It reminded me of when i was a child and received 'herman' from a friend. and a couple of years after me, my brothers also both received herman from a friend. i remember how much fun we had taking care of him, feeding him, stirring him and eventually, eating him! plus sharing him with friends. and i thought to myself, what a wonderful time to bring this joyful experience to my friends! Herman A KIND OF BREAD/CAKE BASED ON A SOURDOUGH STARTER THAT IS BEING PASSED ON TO FRIENDS like a CHAIN LETTER. Museums

Los Angeles has a couple of really nice museums. Although I believe the most outstanding works of art and works of famous European artists are in Europe, here the architecture of the museum buildings and the overall experience of a visit are astonishing. The focus of the museums on modern art is also interesting. Keep in mind; most museums are closed on Mondays and for most museums you can book a ticket online; for The Broad this is a must! The Broad   The Broad is a modern museum in Downtown LA  (DTLA) with an awesome entrance of which I won't reveal the surprise. The entrance is free, but book your tickets online and in advance to avoid wasting half a day standing in line. Also, as long as there's a special exhibition, you might have to sign up to see this as soon as you enter the museum. At this moment, Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Rooms are temporarily closed due to the pandemic, but hopefully they will be open soon. Book your tickets well in advance at   ht
